BIKING/HIKING/BACKPACKING

  • Route of the Hiawatha - 70 miles - 30 mile round trip along an abandoned railbed through the mountains along the Idaho/Montana border
  • Centennial Trail - 2 miles - 37 mile long trail winds along the Spokane River from Riverside State park west of Spokane to Coeur d'Alene Idaho. Access point to trail about every 2 miles

WATER ACTIVITIES

  • Coeur d'Alene City Park - 15 miles - west of downtown Coeur d'Alene with breathtaking views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Large beach with a well shaded park, large children's play area, rentals for canoes, kayaks, paddle boats; lake tours.
  • Silverwood Theme Park -40 miles - 60 rides and attractions, include 3 rollercoaster and a water park. Plenty of picnic areas - this can be an all day adventure
  • Splash Down Water Slide Park - 8 miles - multiple slide options next to a city park with children's play area

SPORTING EVENTS

  • Bloomsday - 15 miles - For 30 years, Spokane has hosted this 12K/7.6 mile race through downtown Spokane, through scenic Government Way, up Doomsday Hill and back into downtown Spokane. Finishers received the coveted Bloomsday T-Shirts.
  • Hoopfest - 15 miles - Downtown Spokane is closed off and all intersections become basketball courts for the world's largest 3 on 3 competition that draws over 25,000 players to its 400 courts and 13,000 games
  • Iron Man Triathlon - Coeur d'Alene has been a site in recent years for this qualify event of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run
  • Spokane Indians Baseball - 10 miles - Enjoy great baseball at yesterday's prices. Spokane Indians are the Short-Season A Affiliate of the Texas Rangers
  • Spokane Chiefs Hockey - 15 miles - See upcoming WHL stars in this dynamite team
  • Gonzaga Bull Dogs - 15 miles - Join in the Bull Dog fervor

MUSEUMS/ATTRACTIONS

  • Riverfront Park - 15 miles - Downtown Spokane - This 100 acre park was the site of Expo 1974. It includes the Opera House and Convention Center, IMAX theater, winter ice skating rink/summer pavilion amusement rides, gondola ride over Spokane Falls, Tour Train - 40 minutes loop through the park, Historic 1909 Looff Carrousel - one of only 100 in the country
  • Manito Park - 15 miles - Grand Blvd and 17th - This beautiful 90 acre parks has many interesting areas, including the fountain at Duncan Garden, Rose Hill, Japanese Garden and Gaiser Conservatory.
  • NW Museum of Arts and Culture (MAC) - 15 miles - Browne's Addition, west of downtown - Family friendly museum includes historical Campbell House
  • Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge - 35 miles - provides productive breeding and nesting grounds for migratory birds and other wildlife
